I've been waiting to get pictures off my cell phone of his birthday for this post - but it's taken too long and i'm holding up other good posts! So I'll add them later for me . . .
One of my kids asked when D was having his birthday party - I said, "tonight with us" and they asked, "No, when is his friend party?" As if celebrating with family wasn't a REAL birthday!!! (:
We love you Daddy!!!
We love how you tickle us and play on the bed with us. We love listening to music with you in the truck/van. We like watching Wipe Out with you. We love our house where you've done so much hard work - we know we are lucky! We love the kisses on the forehead. We love YOU!!!

Mommy Stress
Ak took this of me before I went to the hair dresser. I pulled my hair back in a ponytail all summer. Easy.
I had high hopes and excitement as I've been growing out my bangs since she last cut it in December and I was ready to chop it SHORT in the back and leave my bangs as long as possible.
But I left with a different feeling because she told me my hair is thinning and it's breaking off and I'm too young for this she said. She said it is probably caused by "mommy stress" she said. She went on trying to convince me that that's the stage I'm at right now and I probably can't help it and stress can affect our bodies in many ways. I was like you do NOT have to convince me that I have MOMMY STRESS - I believe you. (: She told me to use some special shampoo and conditioner, Nioxin, for the thinning. She told me to take biotin (a B vitamin) supplement to help it grow stonger. I asked what I should eat - she said PROTEIN. I should have known. I don't eat much meat unless I don't have to cook it or it's smoothered in some yummy sauce!!! I prefer so many other foods! But I will have to be more concience of combining my food to get complete proteins! (like rice & beans, etc.) And maybe I should get some protein powder to add to smoothies - if I can find some that tastes okay!?
So I just let her cut my hair as I changed my mind about my intended cut for my status of my hair and how I won't take time to fix it. But after the shock of her assessment/advice has sunk in I'm left with this funky hair. I can't do anything with it. It's like it's the grown out look - like I should be going to get a haircut soon. Ugh. Depressing - but I still go out in public and luckily my friends and family haven't asked many questions - like "do you like it?" NO! (: But I'm too busy right now to go ask her to fix it. (: But this really affected me - I feel bad because I should have eaten better while I was pregnant and nursing for a straight 4 years. My gums are messed up from that time and now my hair. Oh ladies who are still pregnant and nursing - GO TO THE DENTIST more often and Eat lots of food full of good vitamins and minerals!!!! The baby is sucking out all the stuff you normally get - so you have to add more! I was told that - but I didn't listen - I figured - "I'm carrying a baby or caring for a baby" - so I'll eat what I want! Eat healthy now or pay for it later - that's true at any age or stage of life I suppose.

Z-man
Here are some of the first things Z brought home from Kindergarten -
Triangle Man and Square Smilely Face Finger Puppet. (: Simple - but he enjoys it.
They had 2 weeks of color week - here's Z on yellow day.
Here he is on green day.
Don't you love it when you see the cutest thing with kids (siblings especially) - but when you go get your camera, they move! After school one day - Zuri was reading to Ak as she has her arm around him. I get the camera out and she grabs the book as I took the picture . . . . oh well. (: At least I saw the cute moment!
Stephen Foster Story
10 years ago my parents met a woman named Rose in China, a fellow Engish teacher from the University they taught. Well, she is on a teacher exchange at a college only 100 miles away this semester! My parent's are very excited! She came to visit with her friend who also a fellow teacher from China and the friend's daugter. My parents took them to a Chinese Buffet. (:
Z and Ak tried to eat with chopsticks. Ak actually picked up food and ate it! The ladies said kids start at age 3 over there - so I guess she is at the right age. Z has asked to go back there to eat so he can try eating again with chopsticks. (: I told him that isn't the only place that has them!
Then B and I went with them to see the Stephen Foster Story. Our Chinese friends made it seem like they had never been to a play before. ?!?

Ready for the First Day of School
Z is ready for Kindergarten. D cut his hair last week and AJ took him shopping for a new school outfit - down to his shoes! (: (props found at home for picture) (:
Here he is - leaving w/ Dad and B . He only looked back because I asked him too. He thinks he is so ready since he's been listening to B's stories for a year. He was very excited to go so I didn't dwell on my thoughts too much about letting go of my 24 hour influence on him . . .
Although Z's teacher put him on the wrong bus, they both made it home!! A prayer was answered that I actually did say when I thought they'd be loading the buses! "Please make sure they get on the right bus so they can come home when I expect them!!!" Glad B saw him and told her teacher!
Yea, off that hot bus!
This was the "hottest day of the year" I heard - and these kids looked as if it true. (:
After getting all the details, I was proud of B's desired to be so obedient to her new teacher's rules. However, we had a discussion on what constitues an "emergancy" and trumps the rule of "Raise your hand before you get out of your chair". I hope there is no more confusion! (:
Days of Summer
We participated in the Summer Reading Program at the library again this summer (when we were in town) (: Here are my kids with our neighbor's grand-daughter - she was in B's and Z's group. (She went last year too!)
Mammaw gave my kids swimming lessons for Christmas!!!! EXCELLENT GIFT!!!
They got to take a morning class 3x a week for 2 1/2 weeks where they had friends from church in their groups. Then they took a Monday night class all summer long were they got more level appropriate insturction. So it was WIN-WIN for my kids! They enjoyed going! B asked if they could take classes next year. (:
The last day of summer vacation - we got to have 2 friends spend the day with us. After some errands - we broke out a never before tried slipNslide.
It was okay - but not all we hoped it would be. (:
