Trick or Treating

We had a jack-o-lantern pizza from Papa Murphy's then went trick or treating!  I didn't have any costume ideas - so I was okay not dressing up - but D can't NOT dress up.   (:  When I saw his choice - I remembered I had a clown wig - so I put it on to match!  (:   Kinda match . . . .
/We went again with B's classmate in her neighborhood!    Good location and candy!!!  Katie was a pirate.
See Z anywhere???  D told him to go hide . . he should have taken off his hat.  (:    He loves camo!
We came home in time to go to our neighbors on our street - as we neared our house - a SUV was leaving - it was our neighbor's grand-daughter Trisha!   This was the last day we expected to see her for awhile since her grandparents go south for the winter.  We had hoped to see her this afternoon - but didn't.  . . . Trisha hopped out of the car to give B a good-bye hug . . . all in the middle of the street!  It was sweet!  Hopefully we'll see her before spring!!!!   B loves that girl!!!  We went to say good bye to her grandparents - they had a Christmas present for us?!?!  Nice neighbors huh?!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!

Trick or Treating w/ our Senior Friends

We went to a local nursing home with our Music Makers group . . . for some reason almost all the pictures I took of Ak inside have disappeared???  I hope someone will forward me some - so I can attach them - but the ones afterwards outside showed up . . . .   I'm glad the weather was nice!

Trick or Treating at the Zoo!

Earlier in October - we got to go to the zoo as a family for free with our membership!  We learned not to park on site - we ended up just parking on a side street and walking.  Next year we are taking the free shuttle from a nearby school!  It was very crowded the night we went - but it was still fun and we're glad we got to go all together!

Haunts

D helped design scenes at 2 haunts this year . . . he started working at a cornfield . . . then switched after 2 weekends to be with his friends at The Cave of Fear.  (:   I told him since he does this for fun - he might as well be having as much of it as possible!   I got to go see him thanks to my in-laws!  Always an experience!

Trunk or Treat

We were lucky again this year that AJ and Mammaw could come with us to Trunk or Treat at church!

It was very well organized this year - with chili cook off tasting in the gym with a dessert table to snack on starting at 530; youth games in one hall way, younger children games in the other starting at 6; dancing in the gym starting at 630 with coloring pages any time at tables set up in the gym; costume contest at 7 and went outside to trunk or treat at 715.  We parked next to a gal who decorated up her trunk and had music playing . . . she made the kids dance for an extra treat!   (:   My kids had a great time and it was a fun night!
Just wanted to post pictures of my awesome secretary (Baroness) with her GI Joe enemy charachter husband and my awesome 1st counselor - Mother Nature with her "Where's Waldo?" son.  Both did such a good job dressing up!!!  Impressive!  I wasn't creative at all this year.   Next year I at least need a hat!  (:

Bikers!

Short Version:     AJ helped the kids during their break.  B got decent on this small bike!  (:   She looked like she was on a clown bike with her long legs - but still impressive!   I got pictures but only a short video.     Z didn't want to be let go of . . .  and he needed to keep peddling and not look at his feet.
But then today - off he went on his own???   I guess all those tips worked!    He did get a new bike on Saturday (free from a friend!!!) - mabye that made a difference?   D and I were very impressed with him!  He kept riding around our yard - - around and around!  (:  Go Z-man!

Fall Farm Visit

During Grandma Debbie's visit - we got to go to a farm !!!

We took Trisha from next door and we met up with a few other kids from church - Z was the only one that would sit at this table with the skeleton!
Ak was willing to lay on the outline and pretend to get close to hug a skeleton.  (:

Grandma Debbie paid for our kids to each take a turn riding this miniature pony!!!  It was their first time riding a horse!   Exciting!!!

Then we took a hay ride around the property.    One of the moms with us is allergic to hay - glad it's not me!

At the end I let the kids pick a small bottle with sand art in it, a small pumpkin or a small treat to eat.   They all chose to made a sand art bottle.   Other than it being on of the warmest days of fall break and that this wasn't the most elaborate of "pumpkin patches". . . it was worth the trip.  Glad we got to spend some time with friends and family.
