Last half of March

While propping her arm up and watching a show when the others went to school, Ak said "it's no fun breaking your arm."   But cute twins are good distraction!  :)

And having dad bring you ice cream and watch a show are fun!

And her friend brought her something to do and eat!!!  And David's co-worker brought her a gift too!
My goodness I couldn't believe it all!

Dad was the first to write on her cast.
For a couple days she got cards.  The girls was remembered - thank you all.   I need to be better at this type of thing for others!  She went to school the next day - but they called me when here fingers were swelling.  She had to prop it up a lot the first few days.

It was a nice day and the kids wanted a picnic - so I told them to go find a spot outside - I didn't know they'd go down the hill into our neighbors yard - but it was a pretty spot!  :)   Ak is acting all solemn here next to the pine cone and pine needle grave she made for a bird she found on the ground.

Z picked a science fair project out of a Star Wars Science Fair Experiments we got.  "Using Invisible Forces"   He made an "electroscope to detect static electricity"

He got picked to be in the top 30 and so he had to explain his project to a panel of judges.  He didn't place, but he enjoyed doing the project.

A friend from church gave me 4 free tickets to a concert and I took my kids.  I figured the singers would be modest and there wouldn't be bad language.

Saw Lauren Daigle and Citizen Day.

Then Jason Gray (my night favorite!) and Big Daddy Weave.

We didn't leave the building the same way we came in . . . ended up in the basement - the kids had to use the restroom.  Then we saw Big Daddy Weave's main singer in the hallway.  I thanked him and he stopped to talk to Z about his Star Wars t-shirt.  I snapped a selfie like any normal groupie right with me in it.  Then asked him if he'd pose with my kids.   (Bailey wasn't out yet.)   :)    He asked me up what was up with  my mask and when I told him, he wanted to pray for me right there in the hallway.   Fun way to end our night!

Church Easter Activity.  They had 3 stations.   Spiritual thought, relays in the gym, and a craft.

Then they went outside to hunt eggs!!!

Fun times!  Especially seeing those cute twins again!

These 2 got invited to a Space party.  The birthday boy was a space invader and the guests were asked to dress up like aliens.  I just happened to have an alien costume!  (bought it at the consignment sale for 1/2 off . . . I couldn't pass it up - I figured it would come in handy and it did!!!!)   Had to make Ak's . . . sewed on an eyeball on a shirt and hot glued some eyeballs on some pipe cleaners on a headband.  :)  They both had a fun time!

Ak broke arm

Ak was jumping over Z on the trampoline - trying not to have him grab her:  Rag Doll Game.  According to Z, she jumped further than he's seen anyone jump over someone . . . . she jumped too far - she tried to catch her self, grabbing the frame of the trampoline with her left arm - but she landed on her right arm.  She screamed and started crying.  I was inside right in the kitchen.  The other 2 kids were like "mom, mom, she broke her arm!  We know she did!"  I got a hold of my doctor friend to ask where to go.  We put ice on it right away and I didn't get a picture . . . so I grabbed my camera as we left for the ER knowing they would unwrap it and I could take a picture then.   :)    I had to say a prayer for all of us to calm down and get the help we needed.   D was up at class in Louisville.   Luckily the ER was not busy!!!
I'm glad I had my camera so I could take other pictures to document our hospital adventure.   These are the x-rays they took.   Both bones broken!  Ak does not like looking at pictures of her while it was broken.   Even now, as I'm putting these on here....

They tried to put an IV in her arm . .  but she moved . . . so they decided to wait till she was under.   She was in some pain.  But the bear they gave her got a smile.

Our friend is an orthopedic doctor and came in on his night off -- his son came and helped entertain my other kids during "surgery".    He said while paying cards, "this is the most fun I've ever had at the hospital!"  :)   And we got a picture of Ak while she was under since we knew the doctor!

He also sent us a picture of her sleeping in the recovery room.  We were waiting for her to wake up!!!  It was bed time and it stunk that we had to wake her so we could leave and then put her back to sleep.  D arrived and I was about to take the other kids home to bed, when they called that she was on her way to the room.  Z and B didn't want to leave without seeing her.

They said it could be an hour before she could leave.   They had given her a drink and she didn't like it - I thought it was room temperature water, she likes cold.   She asked for something different, so I mentioned ice chips, and then she heard the word ice cream her facial expression changed!  :)    (turned out the first drink was sprite!  So we got her some water and she liked that better!)

D took the other kids home to put them to bed.  Since Ak drank and ate something and asked to use the restroom . . . the nurse said she didn't have to stay an hour and they let me get her dressed to leave.

When you have a trauma emergency pop up, living in America is a good place to be!  I'm glad they could help her and she didn't have to be in pain while they set her arm.  I'm very thankful that I was able to reach our friend and he could help us!!!  Nice having someone there that we knew and trusted.
