October Mis-match

Went to see D's haunt with my friend Grace and her 7th grader. . . . She tells me later she thought it was going to be like what is in this first picture (that was taken in the barn/family part) . . . so she was freaked out (in an awesome, impressed way) when we went to "The Woods" and they both were running scared . . . which made me giggle.

After Gilda's club one Saturday we needed to kill time till a wedding at 6 pm. We drove through a famous, old cemetery that we've never been through. We were impressed how big it was! And the variety of large tombstones. And my kids said they had never seen a swan before???

And Ak practiced on the family making some cupcakes w/ cookie dough icing. She wants to do a fundraiser and sell them . . . . which we did the Friday before Halloween! (Trying to raise money to go support the Derby City Dragons - breast cancer dragon boat team - when they compete in Italy.) She baked two batches (4 dozen), sold them for $1 each and made $48! (They didn't all sell - but someone made a donation and the band teacher bought 20 as we were leaving!) :) She hopes to do this once a month at D's school - to the teachers in the workroom. (We are franchising off a friend who now has a successful customer base after doing this for the past few years but planned to quit this year, but isn't - but that's okay since I need time to get used to this adventure.) Hopefully eventually we'll get to do this at another school too.

Zuri had basketball practice and missed Burkoween. :( Fun to run into on of my college roommates . . . she was Anger from the movie "Inside Out" (her sister and friend dressed up as emotions too.) :)

I saw a nice note on the fridge one day . . . . Then one week, another . . . .

And another!?! I can't lie --- it did make me smile and feel nice. So I decided, I better acknowledge that I was seeing them!!! :)

Red Ribbon/Spirit Week

They all like to dress up! :)

B is giving her #1 sign and she's holding up part of the net that they got to cut down since the 8th grade team WON REGIONALS!!!! Exciting few last games - fun being on the team!
