Crepes Goodbye to Lara

Due to COVID and the unlikely hood of returning back to in person classes and host dad was furloughed .  . . . too many unknowns - so Lara and her parents decided it was time to go home.   Luckily the principal at her HS said she could do her classes online and finish/get credit for her American school year!
We knew Lara liked crepes and we said we would make them sometime together but since we hadn't done it yet - we figured it would be safe to social distance  in her driveway.   It took a little longer on the electric hot plate . . . but it worked!
It was windy so we tried to block it with our cars .  . . . .

Bye Lara!   Safe Travels back to Spain!  We hope to see you again!!!!  Thanks for coming to Kentucky!

Good bye to Tim

Tim is from France.   His host family helped mom with a student last year - and they asked if we had any church activities this year - so even though he came with a different company and mom wasn't over him - she invited him to come play kickball the first time and he kept wanting to come back.  When the pandemic hit - mom heard his company choose to send all the students home with little notice.   Mom texted him to ask if it was true - that he had to go and he texted mom "Yes unfortunately it is true, this is probably the worst day of my life.  Thank you so much for all of what you've done."   Mom asked the bishop if maybe the young men could go by to say good bye ... but with no one going anywhere - he said Rylan could make him a video to send him .... it turned out great!!!
