Easter Wreath

I got invited to a friend's house to make an Easter Egg Wreath this week!!! She sent out an invite with a link to http://cindis.blogspot.com/2009/03/moms-do-some-grass-this-month.html where it describes the craft in detail w/ pictures and directions.

I've wanted one for awhile since I had seen one my mother-in-law had made. So I was glad for the chance. PLUS I got to use some cool eggs I got on SUPER-clearance a couple years ago that I didn't know what to do with - so I think this made a great way to display them!

I tried to copy some pictures from my friend's blog (http://keelgang.blogspot.com) of the event but I couldn't - so you just get to see my finished product. There were 5 of us there - the others were much faster in creating theirs than I (no surprise) but my 3 kids were there too - so that throws me out of wack a few times which adds to my slowness in making decisions. (: She is so nice to provide a date and location and motivates us all to come and be crafty! She had some yummy snacks and I brought a pizza to add (and for my kids to eat!) and we had a great time talking and making these wreaths! I called my sister that night and told her she should make one (I had given her some of these eggs back when I got them for a steal) - so what does she do - says okay and within 24 hours of my call - she has hers done!!! (: GO GIRL!!! No procrastinator like me!!!

I would love to host such a craft day for ladies in my ward - but when??? Easter is almost here. Maybe next year? I'll keep my eyes out on the clearance as usual! I'm very thankfrul to Maria for inviting me and for her patience, politeness, and positiveness with all my quirky traits!!!

I thought about asking for your vote whether you like the bow or no bow. I couldn't decide - I still can't and D isn't around to ask and listen to me hehaw about it. I wanted to hang it up - so I just stuck on the bow and put it on my old door!!! I figure I can take the bow off later - but for now I'm glad it's up!

We love our Family!!!

In Joy School - we just finished talking about the Joy of Family Pride and Security - I was trying to take a picture of Z and B's colored cut outs of their family (can you see B drew eye glasses on some of us?!) and Ak just HAD to have a picture of her taken too!!!

Pay It Forward

The first 3 people to comment on this post will get something made by me (or email me IF you don't have a blog account which is necessary to comment) - and it will made by love just for you!

An old college friend (MR) had this on her blog last month and I didn't comment in time to be in the top 3 - but I thought it was a great idea - however I still didn't copy and paste it in my blog --- then today another friend who used to be in my ward, (LL) had it on her blog as "Spring Surprises" - so I figured now it is my turn to have it on my blog! There were a few different rules between the two gal's posts - but same great idea! Hope someone keeps it going. love ya, A

{The Rules}
1. Be one of the first THREE bloggers to leave a comment on this post, which then entitles you to a handmade item from me - something crafty or yummy, who knows?!

2. Winners must post this challenge on your blog, meaning that you will Pay It Forward, creating a handmade gift -anything!- for the first THREE bloggers who leave a comment on YOUR post about this giveaway!

3. The gift that you send to your 3 Friends can be from any price range and you have 365 days to make/ship your item. This means you should be willing to maintain your blog at least until you receive your gift and have shipped your gifts. And, remember: It’s the Spirit and the Thought That Count!

4. When you receive your gift, please feel free to blog about it, sharing appropriate Linky Love! If you are not one of the Top Three Commenters on this post, you can still play along. Go ahead and start your own Pay It Forward chain, and encourage your blogging friends to do the same! SO, REMEMBER...Pay it forward!

P.S. If you are one of the first three and don't have a blog to post on, but want to do this - take the next three friends that call you just to chat and Pay It Forward to them! Then challenge them to do the same :)
Let's help make this a wonderful world to live in and show our friends how much we care for them :)

Green Crafts

This month at Story Hour, Ms. L has given us green crafts to do. FUN, FUN, FUN!!! Ms. L's crafts usually go along with the story! It's been so far!Last week, Ak didn't even attempt to sit and listen for the story part - she told me right away, so we stepped outside and waited. This week - she made it through the first, but then got restless so I took her out. I hate that she's a disruption, but I am really glad B and Z get to go - they love it!!!!

Flat Stanley's Visit

Last week, I got a call from an old friend who lives out west, asking if I would "host" Flat Stanley. She explained this 2nd graders project - where this paper doll gets sent around the country. I said yes and received this journal where others have writen where he's visited and included pictures. I had to take my Dad on a road trip to a doctor - so I showed him somewhere I thought would be interesting & it was on the way. (:
Louisville, Kentucky: Home of the UofL Cardinals (where the basketball team is doing very well to my husband's delight being a graduate from there!), Home of Churchill Downs where the KY Derby happens, and home to the Louisville Slugger Baseball Bat! Hope you had fun with us Mr. Stanley! Sorry the sun was in the wrong place at each stop!

While my Dad was at the Doctor - I found a place for my kids to play!!! I had never been there before - but it was right along the river and the weather was nice. The playground was the right color for the day! GREEN! (: We had a little picnic and took a walk. Saw a house that when I pointed it out to my kids, Z said, "It looks like a doll house." I laughed and said that it did indeed! (: I think I saw a sign that they sell ice cream there in the summer! (:

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Hope you have a great day tomorrow - with no pinches!!! My kids are still a little confused on that idea! (: But to be safe - we will be wearing green! We have a full day planned for St. Patrick's Day - so I am posting early otherwise it would be late! We took these pictures last week (before it snowed) and got pictures sent out to grandparents - I was quite happy I got that accomplished!

A cousin's birthday party!!!

We were invited to her birthday party at McDonalds!!! All these fun places lately, B asked why she doesn't have her birthday party somewhere like that?! (: I'm sure she has fun at her birthday parties too - so I don't feel bad - or that those feelings will linger in her. (: Although I might have made a mistake in telling I had heard of a bowling party for 6 kids that sounded affordable. We'll see. (:

Gma and Gpa brought them to meet me there since I had a meeting up closer to the party and D is SUPER busy and at school most free minutes working on the yearbook that needs to be sent out this week!!! Although he did pick them up after a YM's basketball game that was nearby to take them home since I was staying up there to work. FULL DAY!!! D had stayed up all night at school - so he crashed soon after he got the kids to bed! He hardly moved when I got home at midnight!

The kids had a great time playing on the playground, eating some grub and CAKE!!! And watching the birthday girl tear through her presents faster than I have ever seen someone open presents!!! Thanks for the party Am!!!
