Easter Bunny
Our Music Makers group got invited to an egg hunt at a senior home where we have visited and done our program before! It was a beautiful day and they had some residents outside to watch . . .
We got greeted by the Easter Bunny! Ak gave him a hug - Z hid behind me. (: Another group of kids were also there - they sang a song they prepared with cute homemade bunny hats and all . . . I didn't want them to upstage the MUSIC makers group - so luckily I knew they were doing a song, so I was prepared and brought a CD and some egg shakers in case we wanted to do a song too in front of the residents! My group didn't object - so we did.
Then the kids got to go hunt eggs!!! There were TONS of them everywhere around the front and side of the building. At the beginning Ak was very paticular about what eggs she would put in her basket. She'd pass by 10 before getting one - it cracked me up. (:
Z filled up his "basket" - I mean FILLED - how fun for a kid to hunt eggs with no limit! He gave some to Ak - but still tied his buddy with 39 eggs for first place for "most eggs" and they both got a prize! A little girl got a prize for "least eggs" - she had 2!
Here's part of our group of kids with Bro. W - his wife is a resident there and they both are members of our church - so he was tickled to see us all there! She didn't come outside - but he has always come to see us when he knows our group is going to be there. (:
Afterwards they even had cookies and lemonaide for us! Nice for the moms - we just showed up with kids and a basket! My kids had a great time - I hope everyone did!!!

Surgery & Coloring Eggs!!!
Should I not post this picture? If requested I will remove it.
D asked me to take this picture - but today he saw it and he has no memory of this picture being taken; obviously he already had a lot of meds and was almost out. He had surgery on his hand. A student at school tripped him, he fell and broke his finger. It didn't heal right and was in pain anytime someone shook his right hand or tried to hold his hand or it got hit, etc. . . So hopefully the surgery will take away that pain. He still is on pain meds and is sleeping a lot and still re-asks questions and is a little off which at times is funny and other times frustrating . . . I'm not a good nurse and am glad I didn't continue in that profession! He can't use his hand, so he's off work for 2 weeks. While I went with him to the surgery, I had a wonderful friend watch my kids - then my wonderful mom came and got them when it was time to get B out of school and took them to her house to . . .
COLOR EGGS!!! Z was so excited to do this - he did a count down to surgery day - not for D but to go color eggs! (:

Misc. March Activities
So B likes to draw . . .
and create with scrapes of paper, glue and marker. (that's blue chapstick around the lips so I'm told) (:

B made 2 kites at school recently, so Z and Ak were happy when the craft at Story hour was a kite! And yes Z picked a Christmas jacket to wear! (: I think it needs to disappear into the December decoration box! (:
At Music Makers - this snowflake was a hit as a prop.
with both of my kids. (song . . "if all the snowflakes were candy bars and milk shakes" . . .)
Using our coupons for 3 free kids meals while D was in a pre-op appointment!
At our 2nd stop for free meals - the waitress asked what kind when I said the kids would have milk. Once she said, "white or chocolate" and she saw their reaction - she asked, "oh, sorry if I shouldn't have said the C word." (: oh well - B drank white since she had had chocolate with her lunch - but Z and Ak were happy to take chocolate!

Church Egg Hunt

Sock Hop
My parent's ward had a Family Dance last night and we went for a bit!
We didn't have any poodle skirts to put on - but B and Z really wanted to dress up 50's style - so we tried. (:
Z had on penny loafers - but took them off right when we got there when he saw grandpa dancing in just socks!!! (:
D was able to ride this Harley here for a prop decoration! (:
The kids had fun posing!
Even though no perfect pose/smiles.
They enjoyed it more than I caught with these pictures. (:
They also liked the food - although they opted out of the root beer floats. (:
They found other things they liked. (:
On the way home - they asked when is the next sock hop they can go to?! (:

They didn't want to leave. (:
Gotta love free family fun!
