Nutcracker!

B got to attend the party that is at the opening in the Nutcracker Ballet!  It was fun to see her on stage for most of the first act!  She did great!

We love the gumdrops in the land of sweets!  They only did one song - but Ak did a great job!

D helped in the Chinese scene by holding up the dragon's tail.

Aunt Candy & Uncle Victor met us for dinner in between shows!
On Sunday, Mammaw came to watch the show!!!
And here the girls are with the owner of the studio (B's ballet teacher) who puts on this production!

I have some video clips - let me know if you are interested in seeing them.

Ak is 6!!!

She took a snack to share with her class:  cheese puffs.   She put her straw in her cereal at school and acted like it was a candle and she pretended to blow it out!  :)

I saw this elf bulletin board with the class elves and it made me laugh!  :)
After school Ak had dance class at church and they sang to her and the she passed out doughnuts!
Due to Nutcracker practice this night - we picked up some pizza (see her carrot "candle" in there?!) and then had doughnuts and opened gifts!  :)

Ak loves blue and purple.
Ak loves to give hugs.
Ak is a good singer.
Ak likes home piano lessons - she has some natural ability and seems to be able to play by ear.
Ak likes to make funny facial expressions, change lyrics, and get laughs.
Ak has begun to read books in Kindergarten!
We love you Ak and are glad you are in our family!!!!  Happy Birthday!!!!!

Elfis

Z and B were in the school winter musical chorus!  It was less than 30 minutes, well attended and fun to watch!  The kids learned about Elvis . . . so kind of a fun musical!!!  :)

3 out of the 5 girl background singers were in B's class and another one was her good friend Emily!
Mr. D their music teacher is a childhood friend of their moms!  :)
 Good job guys!

Piano Recital

Z played "Christopher Columbus" & "Deck the Halls".   B played "Soaring" & "Joy to the World".
They did a great job!!!
Here they are with their patient piano teacher, Marcie!

Grandma knowing that Ak knew a piece too asked her to play afterwards while people were eating some refreshments - she was happy to!  :)  Thanks Grandma & Grandpa for your support!

Ak's Friend Bday Party

Ak is turning 6 years old!!!   We had a unicorn gingerbread house decorating party with some friends!!!  She chose to first color some unicorn cut outs  . . .
then pas out some horns . . . yea - she wasn't too happy with the noise the produced.  :)
We played Pin the Horn on the Unicorn!
 Then decorated our "unicorn houses"!
She really wanted her horn (sugar cone) to go on TOP of her house - but it wouldn't stay so she settled for putting it in the opening.  :)
We ate unicorn horns (corn dogs) and unicorn hoofs (tater tots) with carrots & cucumbers!
We had cake and ice cream!!!  (I had found the shape of a unicorn cake to make - but Ak preferred this unicorn figurine on top cake - so I was happy to switch since it was easier!)
(She missed one friend who got sick today . . . luckily she didn't mope and dwell on that - a couple of friends brought siblings - so we weren't short on people).
She had a great time and got some nice presents!!!!

November

Well . . . I can't seem to find pictures that I took on Thanksgiving, sorry.   That stinks if they are lost forever . . . but there are worse things that could happen.   This picture was from when my kids wanted to sleep under a tent they made with the long 2 tables that we used for Thanksgiving.  :)    We are blessed!
