I got this idea a year ago ... for a fun mother, daughter DINNER date ... I had lots of grand schemes in my head that didn't happen . . . the month was so busy I almost didn't do it . . . but I had already told my girls and I really wanted to, so grand or not I tried to keep it simple, not invite everyone on my list, and just do it! I let them each invite 3 friends from their church class and ...
This is just a 1/4 of the invitation that was on a cat head shape. I had the thought to go ask a friend if she had any glass containers - she did!!! They added to my effect!
We had an easy ice cream topping Bar with gross names the girls thought up! We put them in a variety of glass containers which helped it look like a witches kitchen!
We did a sticker/coloring craft as we waited for people to arrive and while I took pictures next to our coffin of the girls with their moms who also dressed up!
We split up for a treasure hunt outside!
The treasure box with candy for the girls and a witch's shoes kitchen hand towel for the moms!
The girls got to take turns pouring in items for the Witch's Brew! They loved that part!
Then we went downstairs and told a "scary" story with things to pass around and touch in the "dark". :)
Then we had simple cupcakes and got to pick whatever toppings they wanted for sundaes!
It wasn't what I had first envisioned so that was hard for me mentally to get over - and we had to do it as an after school activity instead of in the evening, but it was fun and at the end - I think all the girls had a great time, my girls did! :)
