We had some friends who had their wedding reception on New Year's Eve - so we were thankful to D's mom for coming to watch our kids. The kids would have liked to dance - but we would have not liked them staying up till midnight!
I brought the dress form to display this dress with us (well D carried it in and we felt funny doing that - we weren't early so it was a little obvious carring in this "dummy" shaped thing!!!!) We borrowed it from my mom's house so the bride could display her mom's wedding dress - the bride wore it during her wedding ceremony - but wanted to wear her own dress during the reception. The bride and her mother thank you mom!!!
There was tons of food, my favorite mints, and dancing - so I was excited!
Unfortunately there weren't a lot of dancers and so by 11 PM they wanted to end the party. WHAT I said?! No way! It was new years eve - I want to dance till the next year!!!
So even though they turned the lights up to clean - we kept dancing!!! We didn't want to help clean up anyway! Ha!
Luckily I have a husband who will get out there with me when NO ONE else is dancing - we both were in good moods - so we had a good time regardless!!! Thank you D - you made the year start off great! We stood out - so they took pictures of us!
Around midnight - they dimmed the lights and we counted down and they had ballons drop and it was festive. I'm glad they waited as they had planned!
