My friend said her mom had pears that needed to be picked and since I'm always up for free produce we went out to her property and picked from two trees! I"m so glad we did! The kids had a good time!
Then I went up the ladder while D held it . . . no support from something else - he just held it - strong guy! (: We got 2 full boxes and it was good family activity!!! 
The pears turned out to be AWESOME!!! I've picked from other's trees and they don't ripen - they can still taste good - but more of a crunchy pear. These ripened at different times and were delicious!!! I shared a few (people were impressed with the juicyness! I dehyrated some, made about 9 pear crips (froze 1/2) and ate the rest fresh! I hope they call me next year!!!! Thank you for sharing!!!!

Wow!!!!! That's awesome! What a fun, memorable activity for the kids! Wow! So great! I love picking fruit from trees! I've picked grapefruit from trees before. Grapefruit trees (bushes) are low to the ground, and you just walk INSIDE of the trees to pick the fruit! Very cool! I'm glad that the pears were so delicious and juicy! That's great that you were able to make so many things with them! Yummm!!!!!!!
Oh! And you sure got a LOT of pears! That's great too!
